Comfort is assured at Piper's Rest, which is fully equipped with modern amenities, an electric stove, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker and laundry facilities. Just five minutes away you will find all the supplies you need in the quaint little town of River John, with its Co-op supermarket, liquor store and bookstore. For those with health concerns, there is also a pharmacy and doctor's office. And River John hosts an annual literary festival each July, called Read-By-The-Sea, with world-renowned authors such as Margaret Atwood and Alistair McLeod.

Piper's Rest is about 1.5 hours from Halifax International Airport (served internationally and nationally by Air Canada, direct flights from Germany with Condor, and direct flights from Europe with Zoom, to name just a few). Just moments from the Trans-Canada highway, Piper's Rest is also a perfect starting point for trips to the spectacular Cabot Trail on the island of Cape Breton, to the province of New Brunswick with its world-famous Bay of Fundy shoreline, and the ferry to Prince Edward Island departs several times a day from Pictou.
